This one day class will guide you through wet felting a custom pair of wool slippers. While the photo displays a pair of undeocrated slippers, students will have the opportunity to customize slippers with decoration. We will be using 100% corriedale, perendale and merino sheep wool. Use knowledge gained in this class to explore the endless possibilities of the wet felting process for scarfs, beanies, vest, jacket, kids’ clothes and much more.

INSTRUCTOR: Larisa Sova, $165, 10 - 6pm

PROJECT: Wet felt unique slippers from natural sheep wool. Students will felt slippers for yourself (size of your foot). Students learn basic knowledge of calculating shrinkage coefficient of wool, how to build template for slippers, felting with resist, different kind of wool, layering wool and fibers and basic decorating technique. Instructor will show some methods of decorating with wool, yarn, and viscose, and raw fleece.Students decorate slippers their own way of their choice of decorating fibers and technique.

DISCUSSION: basic knowledgeable of different kind of wool/ fibers and their property for felting. What we can use for decoration of felting surface.

NOTE: Please note that you will use your own foot for the final shaping of your slipper. You should be able to sit in this position (see picture) about 0.5 hours each foot.

INCLUDED: All materials included.

PLEASE BRING: one or 2 old towel (keep dry your hand and working table) and scissors. You can bring a Plastic or Vinyl apron (optional). Lunch, snacks, water, and lots of energy!

PRE-REQUISITE: None!  This is a beginner class, no experience necessary. Please arrive with lots of energy, this class is a work out!
