January 24 - Intro to the Tufting Gun
Instructor: Fern (she/her)
10am - 5:30pm, $190
Come try out our machine tufting guns! Each gun has the capability of cut and loop pile. When you arrive an upright frame with pre-stretched backing will be ready for your use. You will be given a 45 minute lesson on how to use the guns and then set loose to experiment. After some practicing you will work on your custom piece 18x18”. Included is the use of a gun, the backing fabric, rug adhesive, felt backing and yarn colours of your choice.
Please bring a design on 18x18 sheet of paper. Best to keep it simple, think large colour blocks. At the end of class we’ll glue the rug to secure the yarn, and you take it home to dry!
PROJECT: 18 x 18 Tufted Rug, using 100% Canadian Wool from Briggs and Little.
PREREQUISITE: None! This class is beginner friendly.
