March 11 & 12 - Marbled Leather Notebook & Case

In this class you will explore marbling and learn some of the basics of leather craft to create your own leather notebook plus a pencil case or wallet.
PROJECT: Students will marble leather to create their leather notebook and case. The traveler’s journal will fit a 5.5 by 8” Moleskin notebook and students will get to choose between a pencil case that is 2.5 by 8.25” or a smaller wallet sized case with the final dimensions of 3 by 4.25”.
DISCUSSION: Students will explore Ebru, the ancient Turkish art of marbling, learning the preparation and equipment required, some of the traditional marbling patterns, how to create them, while discussing the various inks and paints used for each. Plus an intro to leather-craft, some of the tools required to get started and understanding various types/thicknesses of leather used in leather-craft while we cut, punch and sew our projects. Students will also get a PDF on how to marble at home plus the patterns for the projects.

PREREQUISITE: None! This workshop is open to everyone that wants to learn more about marbling and leather work.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to very small class sizes, we are unable to offer refunds on workshops. If for any reason you are unable to attend, you can send someone in your place. Any classes cancelled by us due to low registration or health mandates will have the option for a refund or transfer to future date.
