PROJECT: Learn the delicate art of needle turn appliqué, a hand-sewing method that allows you to create intricate designs and add dimension to your fabric. Our instructor will guide you through essential techniques, including turning under seam allowances, precision cutting and needle control. This class will help you develop an understanding of colour combinations, contrast and harmony to create visually engaging projects while you experiment with spatial arrangements to add depth and dimension to your mini quilt top. You will learn how to effectively position your appliqué pieces, create movement within your design and achieve a sense of balance and symmetry. Feel free to bring your own template, or create your own unique freestyle design during class. Throughout the course, you'll receive personalized guidance and feedback to help bring your vision to life, all while you will discover the calming and meditative qualities of slow stitching, allowing your mind to relax and your creativity to flourish.

COMPLETION AND FINISHING DETAILS: By the end of this course, you will have your intricate quilt top ready. To finalize your 19” x 22” mini quilt, we'll guide you in quilting two layers of fabrics with padding in between together, to secure your design. You'll finish this step at home, giving you the time to enjoy the meditative aspects of slow stitching. We will also provide a link for you to learn how to add the final binding, which frames your quilt, providing a polished, professional look. This ensures your mini quilt is both a work of art and a functional piece of craftsmanship. By the class's end, your mini quilt will be a stunning reflection of your newfound skills and artistic vision.

- You may bring fabrics from home to use. We can discuss whether they are suitable/easy to use at the start of the project.

PREREQUISITE No experience is required; this class welcomes both beginners and experienced quilters. Be prepared for the delicate handling of fabric, a rewarding challenge that will test your dexterity and creative thinking.

CANCELLATION POLICY Due to very small class sizes, we are unable to offer refunds on workshops. If for any reason you are unable to attend, you can send someone in your place. Any classes cancelled by us due to low registration or health mandates will have the option for a refund or transfer to future date.
