February 22 - Circular Tapestry Weaving

Students will explore techniques of tapestry weaving, including tabby weave, soumak, and other stitches for creating texture in your tapestries. This class is perfect for beginners new to weaving, as well as students interested in learning about weaving on wire frames.
During this class we’ll introduce the history of tapestry weaving, discuss types of looms and frames, choosing materials, and creating structurally sound tapestries.
INSTRUCTOR: Dan of Curious Fox Fibres
PROJECT: Using a hand welded metal oval frame approximately 9”, students will explore various textural tapestry weaving techniques.
DISCUSSION: A brief introduction to weaving, various types of looms, tapestry techniques
INCLUDED: All materials included.
PREREQUISITE: None! This is a beginner class, no experience necessary.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to very small class sizes, we are unable to offer refunds on workshops. If for any reason you are unable to attend, you can send someone in your place. Any classes cancelled by us due to low registration or health mandates will have the option for a refund or transfer to future date.
